The Church encourages frequent visits and prayers for our deceased loved ones in our parish cemeteries and mausoleums. These sacred grounds are blessed by the Church and have been dedicated as a place of prayer and dignity for our faithful departed. We understand that families express their love and devotion by decorating in various ways where their loved ones are buried.
However, to maintain uniformity and appropriateness in community mausoleums, decorating must be done in a way that does not infringe on other family’s crypt or niche locations, create any type of a safety hazard, or impede us from facilitating proper maintenance.
As such, please know that the Catholic Parish Cemeteries Association will be conducting an annual cleanup at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum and we’re asking families to remove any personal items or decorations that are located on tables or on the floor by June 1, 2024.
After June 1,2024, all unclaimed items will be collected and set aside, and those items will be accessible for pick-up at any time.
In going forward, we thank you for your cooperation and patience during this time. In response to this change, the Catholic Parish Cemeteries Association will be providing alternative options to families regarding artificial flower placements and bronze adornments for crypt and niche fronts in the very near future. For your convenience, we will have brochures and literature available at the entrance to the mausoleum and on the CPCA website.
